What does a guarantee even mean?
Not happy with them. When pulling a cupboard out the way we found another square metre of damp, they charged me an extra £800 for that. Worst of all their damp proofing didn't work in the bedroom, the damp is worse than before. They want another £1700 to fix it after a charging £4900 for both walls. They promise a guarantee, god knows what they mean by that, there was not guarantee.Verified reviewerJob location: BN1Response from Brighton Damp Proofers
We feel this review omits key context. The 4.9k covered works to the hallway, bedroom & lounge, including carpentry and electrics, not just ‘two walls’. We recommended treating the full bedroom wall but a reduced area was agreed due to budget. A cupboard being removed then revealed more damp, for which additional works were agreed (600 + vat not 800). We have since reinvestigated and found treated areas are sound, with damp in untreated areas due to window leaking above (we have offered to help at a reduced rate.) The lounge/hallway also have a 20yr guarantee. Happy to revisit and help resolve
