We had rain coming through the bedroom ceiling and contacted this company through check a trade. They fixed the roof and charged us £2500 for the job which took an hour. We were given an invoice with a ten year guarantee attached. Roof is leaking again and we cannot get in touch with the company. We thought using check a trade would prevent us being ripped off but we were wrong. We are both pensioners and that was all our savings gone. Repair / replace gutter and downpipe
Asked for a replacement downpipe and a repair or replacement to a gutter along roof. Quoted and paid £300. The downpipe was not replaced. Instead a piece of plastic was used to repair it. It doesn’t look good but it at least seems to have fixed the leak. However the gutter was not fixed. Instead of replacing the gutter or carrying out a proper repair, a new clip was added. When this didn’t work, an old piece of white board was added behind the black gutter. It’s unsightly. Gutter still leaks. No response to subsequent messages. Rip off.
