To release a bird trapped behind a fixed-in fireplace.
A bird managed to enter and fall down our chimney. In doing so, it became trapped behind our built-in fireplace. To release it required expert, safe removal of the fireplace - a job well beyond my expertise. British Gas were not interested in helping - despite my being a HomeCare member for many years - as the job involved a “live animal”. Excuse me….?? But a call to CHAPS - a firm I’ve used many times before - yielded instant results. My call was answered promptly and within an hour an emergency engineer was on site. Central heating and water tank
