  Rear Extension and Internal Alterations

  It turned sour after we descoped tasks following heavy billing, invoicing almost double original estimates. From this point we only saw the builder three times in six months. A window was incorrectly sized (the sink is higher than the sill) and a fridge water supply was taken from the tank. Extension was left without drainage for six months along with unfinished brick work. Debris was left on our lawn for several weeks and water heating was disabled for a month. Three times we incurred extra cost hiring other firms to rectify work. HW&C declined to cover 50% of the bill for faulty UFH install.

  There were difficulties with this contract, but as far as I was aware the customer was more than happy with the completed project. With regard to the plumbing and underfloor heating this was down to issues with complex pipework within the property which was resolved. The customer was still residing in the property during the build and the services were fully functioning There was nothing wrong with the UFH installation and therefore we were not prepared to pay for an external company to come in. The customer took out items from the original contract half way through the build so the payment plan wasn't a true reflection at that point in time, but on completion it balanced out. We do everything possible to give our customers what they wish for in their completed project, sometimes things don't always go according to plan, but we do our utmost to deliver a high quality level of workmanship and finish, as is displayed in many of our previous customer reviews.

  House extension and remodel

  HW&C are in the final stages of completing a large scale home extension and remodel project. I would recommend them to anyone undertaking a similar project from the point of view of their team carrying out the work at each of the different stages, commitment, responsiveness, client relationship and quality of work.

  New extension lounge, utility room, WC,  en-suite and hallway and internal work to existing.

  A difficult job for H W and C Construction Ltd trying to get out of the ground however, Peter, Phil and the team solved all problems with good humour and expert knowledge. We can not praise them enough for their first class workmanship and skills. I can honestly say it was a joy to have them on site each day. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Always polite and respectful of our home. Always keeping us informed on a daily basis of what was happening and when. I do not hesitate in recommending them as 'First Class Builders' We will be using them again. And we now have a wonderful, perfect home. Thank you H W and C Construction Ltd.

  Extension above garage, new bedroom, kitchen and bathrooms fitted.

  Pete and Phil from H W &C Construction (who run the company) were lovely people to deal with. We actually enjoyed having their team working on our home. As with all projects, there are going to be unexpected issues, but these were addressed promptly and without financial burden to us. We are very pleased with our 'new' home.

  Extension to existing bungalow providing addition bedrooms and bathrooms.

  The project involved an extension to a bungalow to provide additional bedrooms and bathrooms as well as various internal changes to the existing layout. We have been very happy with the quality of work carried out and the overall management of the project. All the team involved were polite, helpful and hardworking.

  Chimney breast removal

  The work carried out in relation to removal of chimney breast and plastering (sub-contracted) was very good. They replaced double electric socket on wall with glue and one side did not work and internal screw holes had been broken (worked perfectly well prior to the work being carried out). Asked to rectify problem they did by not reconnecting the wires in the back of the socket and glued the frontispiece to the back box. This has now been rectified by me instructing an electrician to replace double electric socket and has now been wired up and working. Would not recommend

  It was good to hear that the customer was very happy with the actual building work carried out at her property. Her feedback with regards to the electrical issue was due to the customer being unable to wait for our electrician to return from holiday to repair the socket. As a result, the customer tried to repair the socket and in her attempt cross threaded and broke off the captive thread inside the back box. The customer then contacted us and we made a temporary repair on the socket to make it safe, but the customer was still unwilling to wait for our electrician to return and instructed an alternative electrician to complete the work. I will be happy to reimburse any costs incurred by the customer for the repair.
