Coving, bathroom extractor, hob fitted, room decorated

I've used James 3 times so far. First job was coving and fitting an extractor fan in a bedroom and ensuite. Second job was fitting a new hob in the kitchen. Third job was redecorating a bedroom. All work was done with care, quality and trust. I happily leave James to work on his own and have keys to my houses. James is my goto man for any maintenance on my two properties!!

    Car Port Roof

James supplied and fitted 10 corrogated plastic roof sheets and removed and disposed of the old sheets. The job was completed ok; but since August- have had these issues with the job: - White stickers remained on the sheets and not removed prior to fitting - Packing material between sheets and wood coming loose - Front plastic to secure sheets coming loose - Sheet fully bent and blown off with wind - "Repaired" but leaking within a few weeks - Sheet bent again following a repair Disappointed with the standard and the constant need to request James to repair- it's not safe/fit for purpose.

Response from James Wright Property Maintenance

As we are unable to privately resolve the issues we're having, I'd like to share my opinion on the points you raised here. - This is the first time I'm hearing the stickers are a problem, 5 months since installation - The "packing material" you mentioned are called eaves fillers. They became loose in places due to bowing and movement in the timber frame. I came back and rectified this straight away - The small section of plastic fascia that bowed up was also rectified quickly - The roof was then damaged by storm Ciaran. I returned immediately and made repairs out of my own pocket (Paid for materials and a labourer, due to working at height) - I have offered to make good the slight leak, but you now want a full refund on materials and some of the labour cost back, which I believe is totally unreasonable Lastly, I think "constant need" is a bit strong. I've been back 3 times in 5 months. 2 of those visits were for minor problems and the other one was due to storm damage. In my opinion, it shows I care about my work and own it if things do go wrong.

    Replacement wood to porch canopy

A date to do the work was agreed but he didn't show up or contact me as to why and I don't chase people who can't be bothered to communicate as to the reason for not contacting me.

Response from James Wright Property Maintenance

Hi. I'm concerned that you felt the need to leave a negative review instead of communicating your concerns with me directly. When I visited your property to meet you and assess the works at the time and date we had previously agreed and there was no one home, I contacted you directly to ask what was happening and rearrange as I know life can get hectic. I hope that you will afford others the same courtesy in future now. Best of luck in finding someone else to carry out your work.

Replacement of car port corrugated roof and gutters. Replacement of fence panels and post.

James was a very helpful and accommodating person who helped tie in with our time constraints. The work he carried out was with a high standard and left the site clean and tidy. James was a very pleasant and friendly person and I will have no hesitation in asking for his help in the future.

Fixing a number of curtain rails, hooks, and bathroom holders.

James has done a very neat job on fixing curtain rails and other hooks and holders. He worked hard and I will definitely use his talents again.
