  Gas Safety Checks - CP12

  Annual Gas Safety Check

  Hired Robert Barwick to do the annual gas safety check on 12 December 2023. He failed us, saying it was because there is a vent too close to the boiler flue and that it requires a plume kit to make it safe. I have gas safety checks every year and was sceptical but paid an extra £230 on top the £100 I paid for the gas safety check. In December 2024 I contacted a different engineer for the GSC. He told me that the plume wasn't necessary and that the copper pipes under the boiler had small holes in them! He it was unlikely that the holes were only 12 months old - meaning Robert missed them!

  After talking about this complaint with the customer I asked for the other engineer details so I could contact him about his findings ? (But never received them) I supplied and fitted the plume kit at a good price to bring the flat up to a pass for the inspection ! I was sent a photo of the corroded PRV pipe from the boiler (this does not carry water as it’s a safety pipe) and I did miss this ! I asked if the engineer had fixed this and how much he charged but I never received an answer !! I also asked for a copy of the new certificate but never received that either !!

  Power flushing and Valliant Boiler servicing.

  Robert and his mate came on the day that Robert had stated. He explained everything to me and to my wife. His service was exemplary. He kept every thing clean and tidy. He did Power Flushing with a new machine which he had just purchased. His mate serviced the boiler and Robert carried out some repairs to our leaking cistern. He did not charge me any thing extra. He was honest and charged me as per his quote. All my family members were impressed by his service and we have decided to give him the Annual Contract for servicing our boiler.   Gadget for flush broken

  When the company was contacted, Robert responded quickly and efficiently and gave a date of his availability. He arrived promptly and deal with problem immediately. He went out to get the replacement parts and returned quite soon. He completed the job efficiently and waste no time. Thorough, neat and professional. Value for money. I would recommend him highly to others.

  Leaking sink

  I called Robert at short notice as my sink had sprung a leak and flooded the bathroom floor. Robert was kind enough to fit me in for an appointment the next morning and was able to quickly resolve the issue by replacing the tap and tap valve.

  Leak report for Thames Water. Also ensured that I was able to access and turn off my water at the stopcock.

  Rob arrived on time and provided photos and comments that I could send to Thames Water to prove that the leak was outside my property. He also ensured that I could access the stopcock and was able to turn off the water. I feel confident about calling Rob when I have a problem with my central heating or plumbing.
