    In order to understand the issue that we were facing, we got in contact with several contractors, including Southern Specialist Treatments. None of the other contractors were able to identify the cause of what we believed was rainwater ingress. On the contrary, Mark was able to immediately recognize the issue as condensation and he suggested installing a Positive Input Ventilation system. From the start he was very professional, patient and available to answer our many questions. Mark and his son carried out the installation very professionally and the issue is now resolved! Totally recommend!

    We have had large amounts of condensation in the house over this winter, leading to patches of black mould, and had spent a large amount on a damp survey which was very unhelpful. When I contacted Mark he was helpful from the start, looked at the survey report for us, came out and carried out his own survey at no additional cost, offered the most cost effective solution we had offered up to this point and well as answering lots of questions and offering advice. The unit was fitted within a very quick time frame and we have been so impressed we have asked Mark to do several other jobs for us!

    Mark and son, Nick, did a first class job from start to finish. Mark used advanced equipment to diagnose the problem and thought carefully about the best solution. He decided that they should strip the area back to the brickwork, apply CDM (cavity drain membrane), install new plaster board and then re-plaster. Mark and Nick worked tidily and kept mess to a minimum. Each stage of the work was carried out to a very high standard. They were courteous, friendly and professional throughout. I'm confident the problem is sorted. I highly recommend their services without reservation.

  • Installation of a PIV unit

    I had a issue with condensation and mould around windows. Mark came and done survey and suggested I have a PIV unit installed in the loft and assured me this would solve the problem. He came back 10 days later and installed unit. Nothing was too much trouble, he even checked out bathroom extractor find to see if it was working.. He was respectful of property and left it clean after work had been done. Would highly recommend this company and would use again. And there has been no condensation since work was done

Here at Southern Specialist Treatments, we are family run and owned. This helps us keep a close relationship with our customers and work with them to find the most suitable damp control and timber preservation solutions. 


Our approach starts with a free survey under taken by either Mark Stoner or Nicholas Stoner, this allows us to discover and identify the current problem you are experiencing. (We can also diagnose issues you are experiencing by providing us with photos).


One of the issues we commonly find are other damp and remedial companies trying to make customers problems fit their range of solutions, unfortunately this approach often results in unnecessary remedial treatments and continued problems. 


We offer our customers more than just standardise damp-proofing and timber treatment, for example we like to keep buildings as they should be and we are heritage lime plastering experts, modern gypsum plasters are one of the main causes of damp in older properties.

Putting our customers at the centre of what we do has been a corner stone and driving force helping us grow, In-line with other remedial damp proofing companies we have started charging to attend home/site visits and to provide estimates. This is to cover high fuel charges and travel costs.

This cost will allow us to diagnose and provide an estimate diagnosing the problem your property is experiencing and we will offer advice on the most effective way to remedy the problem. This will then allow the information to be passed onto your builder for him/her to carry out any works required or if you accept our estimate then the charge will be refunded against these works. No Job to big or small.
