  Rear Extension

  Ray and his team did an amazing job, not only was their work second to none, but they helped us out of a very tight spot when a previous builder had left us with substandard work while we were expecting a new child. Ray’s team fixed all the issues, managed the process passing building control and went above and beyond in the quality of their work. The professionalism of the team was very high, communication was great, the attention to detail on the plastering, flooring, tiling, fixtures, and painting was was superb.

  Could do better - works to install a new bathroom at my home

  Between 22 September - 2 November 2021 Thatcher Builders installed a new bathroom. There were issues during the build which I flagged, including leaking underfloor pipework...too many issues to be listed here. On 2 November during yet another snagging visit, the plumber said that rather than tiling the whole bath panel, direct access should have provided to the under bath pipework.  Ray Thatcher said this could be rectified but at extra cost to me to which I disagreed.  I believe works have not been carried out with reasonable care and skill as per the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982.

  I just wished you gave a honest opinion because everything was done to a great standard and the leak was a poor coupling on existing pipe work which we done. There is a access panel as you asked us to tile the bath panel which was a extra job which we did not want to do really so we done that and then made the access panel in the cupboard in the hallway where the shower and bath taps are Please make the final payment of £500.00 pounds which is owed We came everyday from 8 to 4 and the day I left you said you were happy with the works Ray Thatcher

  Knocking through two rooms, plastering, brickwork, tiling, moving radiators and electrical sockets.

  Ray Thatcher quickly grasped exactly what we wanted and how we wanted it done. He communicated with us clearly at every stage. His team were thoroughly competent, turned up when they said they would and were always good-humoured. The price for the job was agreed beforehand. Whenever we added additional work Ray told us what it would cost in advance and the prices were reasonable. I could not recommend them more highly.

  Replacing floor joists and flooring after leak and full bathroom renovation.

  From the very beginning and throughout Ray has been transparent, trustworthy and reliable. The work completed by Ray and his team was to an extremely high standard. I am so happy with the overall service Ray and his team provided and with all the work completed. Will definitely use Thatcher’s builders again and will recommend highly. Thank you Ray!

  Renovation of entire house, including rewiring, replastering, painting, new floors, new kitchen etc.

  I cannot praise Ray and his team enough. We had put off a full renovation during lockdown, but with a baby on the way could not wait. From quote to completion everything was exemplary and everyone was professional and friendly. The quote was accurate and very good value. We had moved out and communication was great even where our requirements changed. His team, particularly Malcom and Joe who we dealt with a lot were excellent at that they did but also, crucially, very calming to a pregnant woman! They worked weekends and late to ensure completion before the baby arrived. Thanks again.
