Great team and great service
I needed help with a left-hand drive vehicle for the application to register it in the UK. Even though they had not done it before, they took the time to read the guidance from the UK gov, understand the requirements, run the necessary inspection and give me all the documents needed, all of that in a very timely manner. Everyone in the team was very nice and super helpful. I couldn't recommend them more. Very disappointing experience
I booked my car with VolcanMotors for a professional and detailed diagnostic, as promised when I made the booking. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short. The “diagnostic” was just a basic scan with no proper investigation, visual checks, or effort to identify the root cause. They simply repeated the fault code I already knew and quickly suggested an expensive repair without proper justification. When I asked questions, the response was rude and dismissive rather than professional. Overall, a lack of due diligence, professionalism, and respect. We’re disappointed to read this, as it does not reflect the service provided. Your vehicle was diagnosed using professional equipment and our experience, which indicated a turbo actuator fault. Land Rover guidelines require turbo replacement, not actuator-only repairs, which we will not carry out. We spent 1.5 hours but charged 30 minutes. Further strip-down (4 hours) was advised but declined. Our aim was to prevent unnecessary costs before confirming the same outcome. MOT - couldn't have been better
We have used Vulcan Motors for donkeys years. When ownership changed a few years back we were unsure how the new owner would perform but Ben and his excellent team are excellent. Everything from simple MOTs (like mine today, 35 minutes, from start to finish) and annual servicing, to finding solutions to niggling issues like water leaks inside the floor pan of a Fiesta or why the wretched tyre pressure warning light light come son (both of which they fixed quickly and with less expensive solutions than I had anticipated!). Vulcan Motors Ltd was founded in 1990 and was then taken over in 2000 by a local couple. The business was then revitalised to offer a full range of high-quality servicing, repairs, and maintenance for all makes of cars, vans & Long wheelbase vehicles such as motor homes. This includes all types of mechanical work, engine diagnostics, tuning, and the servicing and re-gassing of air-conditioning systems. Vulcan Motors has since been purchased by Torque Monkeys Automotive LTD in the early part of 2022.
Vulcan Motors is the name everyone in the area knows and trusts, Torque Monkeys Automotive is being utilised as a bolt-on brand to cover the more bespoke automotive work, such as tuning & modifications. When Torque Monkeys Automotive was founded, we concluded that there was a lack of “one-stop-shop” automotive repair centres. We found most garages offered a specialist focus, whether that be: general service, remapping/tuning, exhaust work or tyres and wheel replacements. By merging Vulcan Motors & Torque Monkeys Automotive, we can now offer the ability to cover all your automotive needs, meaning we can provide an all-around package service. Thus, we can save you time and money by using our broad knowledge and abilities, rather than you, as the customer, having to vigorously search around for different places to get various specialist work carried out. Our goal is to stay at the forefront of the latest technology within the automotive industry, for example, Electric Vehicles (EVs) & Hybrids, while retaining our knowledge of older vehicles. Whether your vehicle is old or new, we have the finest mechanics standing by to fix any problem you may have or any modification work you may want to be carried out.
The company, whose standards are approved by the Retail Motor Industry Federation, also operates an Accreditation MOT test station.
