Removal of chimney to change existing two bedroom second floor into three.
10Verified ReviewCan not recommend Keith and the company enough. From the initial enquiry stage Keith was knowledgeable and helpful and worked to a very tight schedule as he knew we had children to work around. Communication was excellent and the company went above and beyond, working with our suggestions and offering those of their own. Keith’s wife Ann also visited the site to help remove rubble which just shows how dedicated the company are. Would not hesitate to use the company in the future and we are delighted with the result.

10Verified ReviewKeith and the team were brilliant. The home visit was carried out very quickly after my initial call to Yorkshire Builders. We were kept informed of the process from beginning to end and the final work was just what we asked for. Keith is very professional and knowledgeable and it would be my pleasure for Yorkshire Builders to do any future work on my home.

10Verified ReviewI cannot recommend Yorkshire Builders enough. It is rare to find tradespeople with such dedication to the job. Keith and Steve certainly went above and beyond working on our house. We undertook modernising a 1950s semi detached with a one month deadline and Yorkshire Builders delivered. The craftmanship is excellent. The communication was great and friendly. We were kept up to date at every step and we were able to discuss solutions to problems as soon as they arose allowing them to be resolved quickly. I will be going to Yorkshire Builders first for all future work without any reservations.

Location: LS7Conversion of conservatory to an additional room and dining kitchen refurb
10Verified ReviewYorkshire Builders have transformed our house into a dream house. Converted through lounge into separate lounge plus dining kitchen and converted conservatory into a large open plan room with the new dining kitchen. From the first visit from Keith, combing his ideas with ours, to subsequent visits to discuss works in detail, the work starting, and now completed, the service and attention has been outstanding.

9.25Verified ReviewI was really impressed by Keith and his team. I care for my wife, and I felt all workmen were respectful at all times, and kept disruption to the minimum. The work was carried out to a high standard, and Keith and Anne kept in touch so I knew what was happening at all times. They were also able to make suggestions for improvements to my initial plans. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone contemplating building work.

Company info
Hi, we are Yorkshire Builders Ltd and thank you for looking at our profile.
Please check our feedback if you have not already done so.
To help you and save time in contacting us for small jobs or insurance quotes, we do have a short list of small works further on in this description that we ask you to read.
Our staff have experience in the building trade that now spans over 50 years, and we are a family run business. Our vans usually run with a 3 man team to carry out such buildings works.
We undertake all major buildings works from a structural internal wall removal, chimney breast removal, garage conversions to living accommodation alterations, we work on domestic properties and commercial properties also. With our staff’s skillset we take the project from start to finish which can include the final stages of carpets or other floor covering if required on building works that we have been engaged upon.
After a site visit, we always issue written quotations listing all works to be undertaken, this details exactly what works are to undertake and the cost of such works, we never increase our cost beyond what is in our quote unless more works are requested and carried out under such variations to the schedule of the works quoted and signed for.
We also work on listed properties also employing a skilled stone mason who is like all our own staff “apprentice trained”.
Our plasterers work to our specific high standard being able to apply all types of plaster coverings as well as plasterboard and skimming. This includes lime plaster, rendering etc.
We even supply and install thermal boards that are bonded to plaster boards to help improve dramatically the thermal value of any home by applying such to external walls.
We work closely with the appropriate local authority of your area with any project that requires the issue of a Building Control Certificate from the appropriate Building Control authority.
This is paramount if you have any structural works carried out on your home, its paramount because it is highly likely that when you come to sell your house the buyer’s solicitor will need to see such documentation to satisfy most lenders requirements and their clients to ensure the property has had approved works carried out on such property.
Experience tells us that once a project starts variations can be encountered, these will always be discussed in detail and any price for any extra works will always be confirmed in writing as soon as possible, so there are no surprises on extra costings if there are any further extra works we are asked to become engaged upon.
We do not take shortcuts on the materials we use, any RSJs (rolled steel joist) or lintels meet the Building Code of such local Building Authority with, if required, structural calculations being obtained and submitted to Building Control and if it’s an RSJ it will be painted to the required Building code requirements.
The same applies to the timbers we use for the flooring, we always try and match the existing floorboards where possible in pine if patching in a floor, when we install new flooring, we use tanalised 22mm flooring boards as opposed to 18mm, because it gives a much sturdier floor with less spring if such can be allowed by the floor conditions.
Our jobs include the following, but the list is by no means exhaustive, if it is involving building works, then most likely will do projects such as:
• Internal wall removal
• Structural alterations
• Chimney breast removal
• Garage conversions to living accommodation
• All types of plastering
• Garden rooms/offices
• Cellar tanking
• Inserting of Lintels above windows where the bricks above such has cracked.
• Kitchen supplied
• Complete bathroom refits
• Plastering
Sorry, but we no longer do the following:
1) We do not engage in providing insurance quotes of any kind, such as damage to walls by delivery drivers etc..
2) We do not do garden works, which includes garden walls, we are just not set up for such works and there is specialist trades that do these projects.
3) We are happy to visit people’s homes or offices once they have bought the property, but we don't do assessments for pre purchase, you are best to get a surveyor to do such works, too many house purchases fall though now with the shortage of houses for sale.
4) We do not do small repairs, we will engage in small repairs if it is part of a bigger project, we simply are not set up for small repairs on their own.
5) We do not do garden wall repairs, unless such again is part of a bigger project.
