About twelve years ago I started working for a very well known double glazing company; firstly as a window fitter then, not so long after, as a salesman.
After a couple of years I became increasingly frustrated at the way customers were being treated. I would always make a point of giving customers my personal phone number, but when my time was being taken up solely, by trying to resolve inexcusable issues, ranging from poor customer service to shoddy workmanship, I knew enough was enough; It was time to set up my own enterprise and run things the way I knew they should be run.
I started Truglaze in 2009 and ran it from my home. The speed with which the business took off still surprises me to this day and we were soon moving into our own premises.
My brother Dave joined me shortly afterwards, having already run his own successful company for seven years. He shares the same values as me and we often talk about the poor service customers receive from other unscrupulous organisations.
We both feel very uncomfortable that our industry treats so many people as cash cows, but the upside is that it has focused our attention on being the best we can possibly be.
Because we are a family business and not a large corporate, we have a relaxed approach that puts people’s needs first, and financial gain a firm second. It’s our belief that there is no shame in making money, because if you do something well and you treat people the way you would like to be treated yourself when doing business, success is never far away.

I personally get involved in every single job we do, regardless of size. It’s this attention to our customers’ needs that has enabled us to establish solid relationships with BMI Health Care, Cross Farm Infant School, Burpham
Primary School, and many others.
Whether it’s schools, residential homes, family homes, small flats or large commercial premises our attention to detail, sense of urgency and, above all, our keenness to provide great customer service is what drives our company.
We have no immediate plans for world domination in the double glazing industry, but we do have one very important mission – to provide the best, no, let me rephrase that, outstanding levels of customer service and craftsmanship which no other company in our industry can match.
