Scrap metal in Brent: Homeowners vs renters

If you’re a homeowner, you’re usually responsible for arranging and paying for scrap metal collection. If it’s related to renovation or a new install (like replacing an old boiler), your installer might include it.

If you rent, your landlord or letting agent might need to authorise the collection, especially if the item belongs to the property (like old radiators or appliances). It’s always worth checking your tenancy agreement or giving them a quick call before booking.

Good to know: Scrap collectors won’t usually take anything that’s part of a landlord’s property without permission.
