Exterior painters in Kent: Homeowners vs renters

Homeowners

If you own the property, you’re responsible for all exterior upkeep and any painting work. Before hiring someone, check if your home is listed or in a conservation area—you may need planning permission.

Renters

You’ll need permission from your landlord before arranging any exterior painting. In most cases, it’s the landlord’s responsibility. Flag any damage or peeling paint to your letting agent or landlord.

Emergency exterior painters in Kent

Exterior paint isn’t often urgent, but some jobs can’t wait:

• Water damage from failed render or peeling paint
• Flaking lead paint on older homes
• Sudden storm damage to painted cladding or masonry
