Air Conditioning Servicing in Addlestone (28)

The main way to tell if your AC needs a service is the time you’ve had it running. If you’ve been using your air conditioner for over a year, booking in a service now is a smart decision. Alternatively, look for the following warning signs that indicate your AC needs to be serviced or repaired;

• Producing warm air

• Unusual odours

• Loud noises

• Leaks

• Only blowing out small amounts of air

As well as running costs, it’s important to factor in the price of annual services when buying an air conditioner. The amount you pay will vary, but the average air con service cost is £80 per unit. You can find more prices and information about air conditioner services in our home office air con service cost guide.

This cost is a ballpark average, for a more accurate price, consider the following factors:

• Type of air conditioner - Different types of air conditioner units will have different service prices.

• Number of units - The more units you have, the higher the air con service cost will be.

• Service plan - If you sign up for a service and maintenance plan, this will cover any repairs and annual services. This can work out more cost effective over time.

• Repairs - If your air conditioner needs repairs, these will be charged in addition to the service fee.

• Refrigerant - Adding refrigerant to your air conditioner will not always be included in the service cost.

• Location - Your location in the UK will affect how much you pay for labour.

An air conditioner service covers a wide range of checks to ensure your AC is functioning safely and effectively. While this may seem like an unnecessary expense, the service will pick up any issues that are developing before your unit breaks down. The service will also ensure you aren't wasting money on your energy bills.

Once you book an AC service, you can rest easy knowing an engineer will be checking:

• Electrical connections
• Airflow
• Thermostat
• Moving parts that need to be lubricated
• Condenser
• Safety controls
• Refrigerant
• Condensate drain lines
• Air filters

What about air conditioner regassing in Addlestone?

During a service, an air con engineer will check for leaks from your AC unit. Unlike car air conditioners, home air conditioners should not need to be regassed unless there’s a leak.

It really comes down to the type of air conditioner you buy and how much it’s used. Some air conditioners are designed to last 10 years, while others will last between 15 and 20 years. In addition, the more you use your AC, the shorter its lifespan will be.

If you want your air conditioner to last as long as possible, regular services are important. They can check every component is working as it should and prevent serious problems from arising.
