There are a few different options to choose from when it comes to liquid plastic roofing. Below we’ve summarised three of the most popular choices:

• Polyurethane - An affordable and versatile option for liquid plastic roofing. Polyurethane has been used for over 30 years and can be odour free, perfect for use around children or unwell people.

• Bitumen - This material has been used for over 200 years for waterproofing. Bitumen is often used in construction as it’s easy to use and very durable. Bitumen liquid roofing can last more than 20 years with little maintenance.

• Polyester - Usually reinforced with fibreglass mat, polyester liquid roofing is available in a range of colours and finishes. It also cures quickly and is easy to apply.

Liquid plastic roofing has a variety of excellent benefits, making this a great option for enhancing your roof. The benefits include:

• Safety - Unlike asphalt or felt, liquid plastic roofing doesn't need to be heated up before use. This helps to reduce the risk of fires.

• Time - Liquid plastic roofing is designed to last. It can last up to 30 years when properly applied.

• Price - Liquid plastic roofing can be applied to certain areas of your roof rather than covering the entire surface. This is a cost effective solution to leaks.

• Application - This material is easy to apply even in difficult to access areas of your roof.

• No interruptions - Liquid plastic roofing can be easily applied without causing any interruptions to the homeowner.

Is liquid plastic waterproof?

Absolutely. The main benefit is that liquid plastic is waterproof, protecting your roof from heavy rainfall and leaks.

Can liquid plastic roofing be used on any roof?

As this is applied in liquid form, it can cover any roof no matter the shape, size or pitch. Liquid plastic roofing is even suitable for use round chimneys or on uneven roofs.

The amount you pay for liquid roofing will vary from job to job. This means the amount a friend paid for their liquid roofing will likely be quite different for how much you’re quoted. Before budgeting for liquid plastic roofing, consider the below factors that’ll impact the price:

• Material used - Different types of liquid plastic roofing will have different prices

• Condition of roof - If your roof is in poor condition, you may need to budget extra for repairs before liquid roofing is applied.

• Size of roof - The larger your roof is, the more you can expect to pay for liquid plastic roofing.

• Access - If your roof is tricky to access, labour may take longer and cost more.

• Your location - Labour prices vary throughout the UK.
