How do solar feed in tariffs work?

If you use solar panels to power your home, the chances are you’ve heard about solar feed in tariffs. Many homeowners don't realise that their solar panels are generating more power than they can use. This means energy is often needlessly wasted. All large energy companies (with over 150,000 customers) are required to offer 1 or more export only SEG tariffs.
