Porch builders in Surrey: Homeowners vs renters

Homeowners

• You’re responsible for the project, including planning permission (if needed) and costs.
• Most small porches don’t need permission if under 3m² and within certain height limits, but always check with your local authority.

Renters

• Porch installation usually isn’t your responsibility.
• Any upgrades or extensions must be agreed with your landlord or managing agent.
• If repairs to an existing porch are needed, report them directly to the property owner.
