Qualifications to check for underfloor heating installation

Installers should hold relevant trade qualifications, and any electrical connection work must be signed off by a certified electrician. For electric systems, look for Part P compliance, held via NICEIC Part P Domestic Installer, NAPIT Domestic Installer, an ECA Part P Certificate, or Select registration in Scotland. Water-based systems don't need this certification, but boiler or manifold work should still go to a qualified heating engineer.

How long does underfloor heating installation take?

Underfloor heating in St Johns: homeowners vs renters

Homeowners

If you own your property, you're responsible for installation, servicing, and repairs. Keep any certificates provided by your installer for insurance and resale purposes.

Renters

Typically, landlords are responsible for heating systems. If you need repairs or servicing, report the issue to your landlord or letting agent before booking work. You may still arrange underfloor heating maintenance for smaller fixes, but always check your tenancy agreement first.
