Do we need to get a dipped step fixed before starting work elsewhere?
We are looking at getting work done on the kitchen and a new downstairs loo under the stairs. We have a dodgy step at the top of our staircase that dips. Is this something that could be fixed from above once the work is done when we get round to it, or could it be something seriously structural and best to do it while we don't mind everything getting ripped apart from underneath?

This should be an easy job and no need to rip anything apart, maybe the top tread needs renewing - something a fairly competent trade could do.
Kind regards, Gareth
