How can I get an overhang on a flat roof?
How is an overhang achieved without the joist acting as a cold bridge spanning the cavity and warm air condensing on the inside of the fascia?

Firstly condensation should not be a problem on the inside of the fascia and this is why the soffit normally has vents, to help prevent condensation build up. Also, if you are creating the overhang out of timber, then you can't get cold bridging through the timber. Cold bridging normally occurs when steel is used and passes from the outside of the building such as a balcony to the inside without isolation. What are you constructing i.e. extension, loft conversion?
