David Young, DY Maintenance, Durham

Hi as you know there are lots of boilers. Worcester are the best and are not badly priced at the moment.

David Ashby, Mr Gas Man Kent Ltd, Kent

Ideal logic or MAX.

Dave Smith, J Smith & Sons (Chingford) Ltd, Essex

Worcester and Vaillant are probably the best but I found also Baxi or Ideal a good priced boiler with a decent warranty.

Guy Hobden, The Plumber Guy Ltd, Twickenham

Vaillant in my opinion.

Stuart Roberts, SGR Plumbing and Heating LTD, Essex

Vailliant is what I would recommend but you will pay the price, another option I would say is a Gloworm energy.

Thomas Clark, Asset Plumbing & Heating Ltd, Carshalton

It has to be any of the new Ideal Max range, with a 10 year parts and labour warranty and included magnetic system filter it’s by far the best price to performance boiler at the moment.

Jamie Burgess-Klein, The Maintenance Guys, London

Installation costs are the same, you're talking about £300-£400 difference. Get the best. Worcester Vaillant or Viessmann.

Danny Tickner, Samsian Ltd, Sevenoaks

Standard combination boilers don't cost a fortune and as Jamie mentions, the difference between top and and bottom end is low at around £300 or so for equal output models of different manufacturers. If reliability is important then cost shouldn't matter in the slightest. Our choice and recommendation is Vaillant. Their 10yr warranty ecoTEC Plus range is outstanding and with an incredibly low failure rate compared to other brands, we have fitted at the customer's request. A close second is Worcester Bosch, which are nice to install but awful to service. As with all things in life, you get what you pay for.

Steven Young, Gas Works MK, Milton Keynes

Hi, I find ideal esprit Combis are good for the price. Reliable and easy to use. Thanks.
