Assume a 9kW electric shower and 10-minute shower.

Cost = 9kW * 0.167 hours * £0.34/kWh = 51p

Gas (powered, i.e. gas boiler heating hot water cylinder)

Assume 9kW again and 10-minute shower.

Cost = 9kW * 0.167 hours * £0.10/kWh = 15p

*The above costs exclude the cost of water, which will be the same in both cases. I’ve assumed the same flow rates, i.e. not power showers.
