Should you do external rendering or lead flashing first?

It’s always best to install the lead flashing first so it can be fitted into the brickwork mortar joint. Once you have your lead flashing in place, you can then add the render bead, which will ensure water runs off instead of soaking into the wall, and then render on top of that.

By rendering on top of your lead flashing, you’ll be in a much better position if the render cracks and won’t have to deal with a leak from water getting behind the flashing.

Hire a local rendering expert

When it comes to rendering the external walls of your property, you can’t beat the work of an experienced local rendering specialist.
