What’s the best skirting board glue?

There are a few different methods for attaching skirting boards to your walls, but the most popular is adhesive. If you’re planning on going down this route, you might well be wondering what’s the best skirting board glue.

What’s the best skirting board glue?

There are a number of different adhesives you can use to attach skirting boards. So, there isn’t one ‘best’ product.

That said, a couple of the most popular products that come recommended by professionals include Gripfill and No More Nails.

Out of the two, Gripfill tends to be cheaper as No More Nails is mainly marketed to DIY-ers. Gripfill is also water-based. That means you can use it to fill the gap between the top of the skirting and the wall as well.

Besides these glues, you can also use clear silicone to do the job, or a decorator’s caulk. This is a water-based filler but can be used to attach skirting boards to your walls to great effect. It shrinks as it dries, which pulls the skirting boards back flush against the wall.

Find a carpenter to install your skirting boards

If you’re still unsure which glue to use – or you simply don’t feel confident installing your skirting boards yourself – why not instead find a carpenter near you?

They’ll know exactly what products are most effective and will be able to quickly install your skirting boards to a professional standard.
