What’s the correct way to install a Tek Wall?

What is a Tek Wall?

A Tek Wall is a new alternative to tiling that’s made of an MDF material.

It’s available in matt or gloss finishes, and in a variety of sizes and colours, allowing you to either complement or contrast with your kitchen worktop.

As well as offering a stylish finish, the absence of grout lines makes it easy to keep clean and maintain.

What’s the correct way to install a Tek Wall?

It’s important to know the correct way to install a Tek Wall for a long-lasting, quality finish. Here’s how:

  1. First, measure from the corner of the wall to the edge of the returning wall (or unit)
  2. Then, measure the height of the Tek Wall area, noting the position and shape of any sockets etc
  3. Next, cut out your Tek Wall panel according to the measurements you’ve noted. The Tek Wall panels can be cut and installed in sections if required
  4. Rest the panels in position and make any necessary adjustments
  5. You’re then ready to apply bonding adhesive to the back of the first Tek Wall panel (the one that runs adjacent to the worktop) and push it firmly against the wall
  6. Repeat with the remaining Tek Wall panels
  7. Measure the aluminium trims for any exposed edges of the Tek Wall and cut to size (this could be the top Tek Wall panel, for example)
  8. Apply adhesive to the aluminium trim and secure onto the Tek Wall panel before securing the Tek Wall in place, as per the previous panels
