Using Checkatrade on Claude
The Checkatrade connector for Claude lets you find trusted local tradespeople and book fixed-price jobs — all without leaving your conversation.
How to connect
Open Claude and go to Settings → Connectors
Search for "Checkatrade"
Click Connect — no account or login required
The connector is now active in your conversations
What you can do
Find tradespeople
Ask Claude to find a tradesperson by trade type and UK postcode. Claude returns a list of results including ratings, review counts, contact numbers, profile links, and a direct link to request a quote.
Example prompts
"Find a plumber near SW1A 1AA"
"I need an electrician in Manchester, postcode M1 1AE"
"Can you find a highly rated plasterer near me?" (Claude will ask for your postcode)
Each result includes the trader's name, star rating, total reviews, location, contact number, a link to their Checkatrade profile, and a direct link to request a quote. Results also show any Checkatrade badges held and whether fixed-price bookable services are available.
By default Claude returns up to 12 results. You can ask for more (e.g., "show me 20 plumbers") up to a maximum of 20.
Book a fixed-price job
Some job types are available at a fixed price through Checkatrade Express. Claude finds the available options for your job and postcode, presents them in a widget, and walks you through the booking.
Commonly available fixed-price categories include:
Boiler servicing and gas safety checks (CP12)
Heating maintenance (radiator bleeding, balancing, power flushing)
Basic plumbing jobs (e.g., leaky taps)
Basic electrical jobs (e.g., replacing light fittings or switches)
This list is not exhaustive — availability varies by postcode.

How the booking flow works
Claude searches for fixed-price options for your job type and postcode.
A widget appears showing the available priced options — select the one that suits you.
Fill in your details (name, email, phone, address) and provide at least 3 available time slots (morning, afternoon, or evening across up to 10 dates). More slots increase the chance of a tradesperson being available.
Claude submits the job request on your behalf.
A payment link appears in the widget — the booking is not confirmed until payment is completed.
If no fixed-price options are available — not all job types or postcodes have fixed-price options. If none are found, Claude will suggest using the find tradespeople tool instead.
After your booking
Once payment is completed, you'll be contacted by Checkatrade Express to confirm your appointment with a tradesperson. To reschedule, cancel, or check the status of an existing booking, visit checkatrade.com or contact the Checkatrade support team directly — these actions can't currently be performed through the Claude connector.
Limitations

Post-booking actions | Rescheduling, cancelling, and checking booking status must be handled via Checkatrade™ Official Site – Find a Tradesperson or support, not the connector. |
