Tradespeople and consumers have until 18 June to submit their nominations
Winners will be recognised at five regional heats ahead of November’s Grand Final
All Checkatrade members pass up to 12 checks and maintain consistently positive customer reviews, but the Checkatrade Awards exist to celebrate those who go further still.
Now in its third year, the Checkatrade Awards shine a spotlight on those who go above and beyond every day, whether they are raising the bar for customer care and giving back to their communities, or inspiring future talent and driving meaningful change across the trades.
This year, the awards will feature five regional events taking place across the UK, culminating in a prestigious national final held at Landing Forty-Two in the iconic Cheesegrater building on 20th November 2026. This format gives even more exceptional tradespeople the opportunity to be recognised for their impact and commitment to pushing the industry forward.
Jambu Palaniappan, CEO of Checkatrade, said: “Tradespeople are the backbone of the UK, and it’s time they get the recognition they’ve earned. Across the country, we’re seeing trades raising standards, building strong businesses, and adopting new tools and technology to stay ahead.
These awards are about celebrating that hard work and giving tradespeople the credit they deserve, not just from customers, but from the industry as a whole. If you take pride in your work, or know someone who does, this is your chance to put it forward.”
This year, the awards are split across two key groups. The customer-nominated trade awards allow consumers to back the tradespeople who’ve truly made a difference, on top of passing Checkatrade’s checks and maintaining consistently strong reviews, across categories including Builder, Electrician, Roofer, Carpenter, Plasterer, Landscaper, Painter & Decorator, and Plumber, along with Trade Business of the Year.
Alongside these are the Industry and Impact awards, open to both tradespeople and customers, recognising those pushing the sector forward. Alongside the overall ‘Tradesperson of the Year’ award, categories include:
Leeds Rhinos Award for Rising Star
Community Hero
Sustainability Champion
TradeMore Award for Technology & AI Champion
Women in Trade Champion
Last year’s awards, held at Wembley Stadium, hosted by Sky News presenter Darren McCaffrey and backed by Government and top sponsors, brought together hundreds of tradespeople from across the UK. Dean Staniland of Pro Property Ltd, Sheffield, took home both Plumber of the Year and the overall Trade of the Year title, recognised for his high standards, reliability and commitment to customers.
