What is the Checkatrade directory?

As the name suggests, the Checkatrade directory is a physical directory delivered directly to people’s homes.

We make sure to publish an updated copy multiple times throughout the year. It works to put homeowners, renters and landlords in touch with tradespeople, providing a two-fold benefit:

  • People can get a fresh look at the tradespeople in their area

  • Tradespeople have the opportunity to put their business in front of new customers

For many, the Checkatrade directory can become a quick and easy guide to find relevant tradespeople that work in their local area.

How does the Checkatrade directory work?

The Checkatrade directory is a form of print marketing, which is a superb way of advertising in your local area.

But in order to appear in it, you’ll first need to sign up to Checkatrade. You can then select a directory tier.

These tiers are as follows:

  • Standard – This includes your business name, services, and contact details (bear in mind there are a limited number of standard listings per category)

  • PremiumThis larger slot includes your business name, services, and contact details plus an opportunity to showcase your logo, in a prime directory spot (premium spaces are extremely limited)

  • Full-page ad - As the name implies, these take up one of the pages within a directory, making them prime real estate

  • Half-page ad - These occupy half the space on a page, where most directories will only offer two available spaces

  • Back-page ad – This is an exclusive half-page ad on the back page (only one member can be featured in this way per directory)
