The Checkatrade directory is a great way to help grow your business in the areas you want to work. But why is it so effective, and how do you get featured? Keep reading to find out.

There are a variety of ways to advertise your business as a tradesperson, but the tried and tested methods can often be the most effective.

Advertising in the Checkatrade directory

The Checkatrade directory has been delivered to people’s homes up and down the nation for over 20 years.

Despite the rise of the internet, the paper Checkatrade directory remains a reliable source of approved tradespeople for homeowners across the UK.

What is the Checkatrade directory?

The Checkatrade directory is published multiple times per year and delivered to UK households by Royal Mail every season, helping to provide a steady stream of work for our featured tradespeople.

The directory provides the opportunity for featured tradespeople to get their business in front of a whole new audience in the locations they want to work.

For many homeowners, the Checkatrade directory becomes their dependable guide to trusted tradespeople in their local area.

Our directories land on 23 million doormats across the UK

How much does it cost to feature in the Checkatrade directory?

The cost of featuring in the Checkatrade directory depends on the level you choose (standard, premium, or back page), what type of trade you are, and your location/s of where you wish to feature.

Do I have to be featured in every directory?

The Checkatrade directory is distributed every three months, but your business does not need to be featured in every publication. You decide on the commitment you wish to make.

Can any Checkatrade member be featured in the directory?

Checkatrade membership is tiered (Approved, Lite, Standard, or Pro), allowing flexibility depending on what your trades business needs from month-to-month.

During months that you want more leads, you can flex your membership up. Then simply flex it back down again once the diary is full.

As long as you’ve passed our checks to become an Approved member, you can apply to be featured in the Checkatrade directory.

Is a feature in the Checkatrade directory good value for money?

As we touched on earlier, the average trade in a Checkatrade directory receives around 47% of their calls from their directory ads.

We know this because every directory entry has a unique telephone number, which means we can track how many homeowners have called in response to the directory ad.

Call tracking also has many other features that we share with our featured tradespeople, providing full transparency on a variety of data, for example, answer rate.
