What is the Checkatrade guarantee?

The guarantee acts a backup.* We’d always expect you to try to make things right first, when it comes to your work. But if you can’t we offer something to try and help make things right for your customer.

Each job you do is guaranteed by £1,000. Eligibility criteria and T&Cs apply.

What does the guarantee cover?

Our guarantee gives homeowners cover for your work, and it won’t cost you or them a penny. There are no excess or hidden charges, although there are T&Cs that apply.

Work that is seen as 'sub-standard' or 'doesn't meet industry regulations' will be eligible for this guarantee. We'll always check if there's any truth in your customer's complaint.

Do I have to pay extra to be covered by the guarantee?

Nope. Being a Checkatrade member alone is enough.

What does the customer have to do to make the claim?

They will need to follow 3 steps.

1. Check they meet the Eligibility Criteria and don't fall under one of the exclusions

2. Collate the required evidence

3. Submit an online form
