What are the disadvantages of aluminium radiators?

Aluminium is excellent for conducting heat, and aluminium radiators use less water than steel radiators. This makes them a fantastic radiator choice and a good alternative if you want more efficient heating.

But what are the disadvantages of aluminium radiators? Well:

  • You’ll have to replace all of your radiators with aluminium ones to reduce the risk of heating corrosion.
  • There’s a more significant up-front cost.
  • They’re very quick to get cold, so they are not ideal for winter months.

If you want to switch to aluminium radiators, review our guide on the cost to remove and replace a radiator.
