What are the disadvantages of aluminium radiators?

Aluminium is great for conducting heat, and aluminium radiators use less water than steel radiators. This makes them a fantastic choice for radiators and a good alternate if you want more efficient heating.

But, what are the disadvantages of aluminium radiators? Well:

  • You’ll have to replace all of your radiators with aluminium ones to reduce the risk of heating corrosion.
  • There’s a greater up-front cost.
  • They’re very quick to get cold so are not ideal for winter months.

If you do want to make the switch to aluminium radiators, review our guide on the cost to remove and replace a radiator.
