What are the building regs for the insulation of lofts with Celotex?

The increased focus on energy efficiency in recent decades has seen the building regulations for the depth of loft insulation change.

In the 80s, 25-50mm thickness was acceptable, rising to 100mm and then 200mm, with the current recommendation being 270mm for new builds.

What are the current building regs for insulating a loft with Celotex?

When insulating a loft with Celotex, it should be 6 inches (150mm) between the ceiling joists. Be sure to factor in whether there’s any pre-existing insulation in place when calculating how much you need.
